About Project
Installations of equipment for the use of renewable energy sources in households will be supported in the years 2023 to 2029 through the new national project Green Homes. The new national project, administered by the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency, is financed from the European Regional Development Fund through Program Slovakia. 151.6 million euros are allocated for vouchers for households from European and national sources.
Owners of family and apartment buildings in all regions of Slovakia, including the Bratislava self-governing region, can again apply for support in the form of vouchers for the installation of heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, biomass boilers and wind turbines.
Installations are possible from 30.10.2023
The provision of assistance in the Green Homes project is governed by the General Conditions of Support. Devices installed after 10/30/2023 will be supported. Registration of applications for vouchers is open, the updated information system for submitting applications, which takes into account the current conditions of support, was made available on 29/04/2024.
Thousands of supported devices
Financial contributions can be used for the installation of equipment that meets technical and environmental requirements and will be listed in the list of authorized equipment at the time of submitting a request for reimbursement of the voucher. The registration of devices takes place from August 2023. List of devices SIEA is continuously supplemented. More than 5,100 are currently registered
authorized facilities.
Registration of contractors is open
Installations supported by the Green Homes Project can be provided by contractors who sign a voucher reimbursement contract with SIEA. SIEA published the call for registration of authorized contractors on October 30, 2023. The list of authorized contractors is published and continuously updated.
The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
The Green Households project is part of the Slovakia Program in measure 2.2.3 aimed at supporting the use of renewable energy sources in households. The goal of the project is to increase the share of RES use in households and the associated reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Almost 60,000 installations were supported between 2015 and 2023
The new Green Homes project follows on from the first three successful national Green Homes projects, which were financed from the Environmental Quality Operational Program between 2015 and 2023. Thanks to European and state support, nearly 60,000 devices for the use of renewable energy sources have been installed in Slovak households so far. Households used vouchers worth 124.5 million euros to purchase equipment. The total installed capacity of supported equipment exceeded 460 MW. Households could choose from more than 5,000 specific types of equipment that met the required technical requirements. More than 1,700 authorized contractors participated in the projects. You will learn how to proceed in order to use the voucher in the following 10 steps.
- Familiarize yourself with the terms of support and contact the contractors
- Check which renewable energy source is suitable for your household
- Choose the device and conclude a contract with the contractor
- The device can be installed before registering and issuing the voucher request
- Register a voucher request
- Send the activation code to the contractor
- The contractor activates the voucher
- SIEA prints the voucher and sends it to households
- If you receive a voucher, it must be claimed at the contractor within 90 days
- SIEA will assess the request for reimbursement, if the result is positive, it will reimburse the voucher to the contractor.
Basic conditions of support for family houses
The subject of support for the installation of small equipment for the use of RES are:
- photovoltaic panels
- wind turbines
- solar collectors
- combustion boilers
- biomass in the form of pellets NEW
- heat pumps
A small device in family houses is a device
- for the production of electricity with an output of up to 10.8 kW
- for the production of heat in a building covering the energy needs for a building used by natural persons for housing up to a maximum output of 1 MW
The authorized entity to provide a contribution are:
- a natural person who is the owner of a family home
- natural persons who are the sole owner of a family home
- natural persons who are joint owners and are authorized to make decisions about the management of the common thing according to the majority of their share
The property must be registered in the Real Estate Cadastre of the Slovak Republic as
- family house
- family house under construction
- or another building that is used for family housing and the applicant has a permanent residence in it NEW
By signing the contract, the household undertakes to operate the equipment in accordance with the updated conditions of support as a minimum during 5 years from the effective date of the contract. NEW
Installation must be performed by an authorized contractor, who has signed a contract with SIEA no later than the date of submission of the application for reimbursement of the voucher. The installed device must be in the list of authorized devices no later than the deadline for submitting the request for reimbursement of the voucher.
The aid is intended for households, therefore the real estate must not be owned or co-owned by a legal entity and must not be held in the commercial property of any business entity. The conditions under which it is possible are also established
to receive support for the property in which the economic activity is carried out, primarily relate to rent and billing of energy costs.
